U.S. Representative DeLauro, U.S. Senator Blumenthal and U.S. Senator Murphy Announce $1 Million EPIC Prize to ClimateHaven to Boost Clean Energy Innovation

U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal today announced a $1 million cooperative agreement awarded to ClimateHaven, a cutting-edge climate technology incubator based in New Haven, CT. The award comes from the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) Prize and marks a significant investment in Connecticut's clean energy future.

ClimateHaven has been at the forefront of fostering climate technology startups that aim to drive economic growth, create new jobs, and position Connecticut as a national leader in clean energy innovation. Over the next three years, this funding will empower the organization to provide specialized support for green chemistry companies, to accelerate the adoption of sustainable technologies, and strengthen partnerships with industry leaders.

"ClimateHaven's mission is to drive transformative solutions for clean air, clean water and energy resilience by accelerating the journey of early stage climate tech companies from lab to market. This funding, secured with the invaluable support of Senator Blumenthal, Senator Murphy, and Congresswoman DeLauro, underscores the importance of federal partnerships in scaling transformative climate technologies. It is a testament of their commitment to fostering innovation in Connecticut, and to accelerating the transition to a resilient, low-carbon future," said Justine Lee ClimateHaven CEO.

"This $1 million Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) Prize isn't just a win for ClimateHaven, it is a win for entrepreneurs in New Haven, who are at the forefront of mitigating the impacts of climate change and creating good paying jobs," said U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro. "This award from the U.S. Department of Energy will support ClimateHaven's work to keep Connecticut a leader in energy innovation, strengthening our resilience and improving energy efficiency."

"This $1 million in federal funding will support ClimateHaven's innovative, cutting-edge work - significant to Connecticut's clean energy efforts. This investment will boost our state's economic growth, create new jobs, and support the next generation of clean energy leaders and entrepreneurs. I will continue to fight for federal investments that advance Connecticut's clean energy goals and tackle climate change," said U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal.

"This $1 million award to ClimateHaven is a big step forward for Connecticut's clean energy future. By supporting startups that are tackling climate change and creating good-paying jobs, this investment strengthens New Haven's role as a hub for innovation and sustainability," said U.S. Senator Chris Murphy. "I'm proud to see federal funding helping Connecticut entrepreneurs lead the way in clean energy."

The EPIC Prize is a competitive program that identifies and supports organizations fostering innovation clusters, a key driver of economic growth and sustainable energy solutions. ClimateHaven has demonstrated remarkable success in helping startups secure funding, expand partnerships, and advance clean energy technologies.
