ALEXANDRIA, VA- Step into history and witness the birth of American defiance at the Fairfax Resolves Program and Marker Dedication on Thursday, July 18th. This free event marks the 250th anniversary of a pivotal moment when Virginia colonists penned a document that challenged British authority and inspired the fight for independence.

Event Highlights:

  • 5:00 PM:Explore engaging history booths
  • 6:00 PM:Official program begins
    • Marker Dedication:Honoring the pivotal actions that moved the colonies toward independence
    • Fife and Drum Performance:Enjoy the stirring music of the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps
    • Historical Portrayals:Hear from reenactors portraying George Washington and George Mason
    • Keynote Remarks:Delivered by Carly Fiorina, National Honorary Chairperson of the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission
