Sign up for National Science Foundation’s graduate research workshop series

The Center for Research and Creative Activity is hosting a workshop series on the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program on Aug. 29 and Sept. 6. The prestigious fellowship program recognizes and supports early-career graduate students who demonstrate the potential to make impactful research contributions in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) or in STEM education. The five-year fellowship provides three years of financial support with an annual stipend of $37,000.

This two-part workshop series will include the following:

• A virtual workshop from 11 a.m.-noon on Aug. 29 with an overview of the program by Chris Hill, National Science Foundation program director for the Division of Graduate Education. A Zoom link will be provided after signing up using the Canvas link below.
• An in-person workshop is scheduled from 10 a.m.-noon on Sept. 6 in the Student Union Building's Bergquist Lounge. It will feature a six-person panel of previous and current graduate research fellows who will share their insights on what makes for a competitive application.

To close out the workshops, Kaitlin Maguire and Marney Ellis, research development strategists at Boise State, will provide an overview of the support and resources available to students putting together applications.
