Earlier this fall Hancock Lumber attended the Sebago Fuller Housing Gala, an event created to recognize the organization's five anniversary and impact in the community-and, where Team Hancock was awarded their first Community Service Award! The Sebago Lakes Region Fuller Center for Housing works with locals, including veterans, to help bring them more affordable home repairs needed to safely live in their spaces. These projects range from replacing decks and doors to retrofitting living spaces for handrails, ramps, and more. Hancock Lumber's partnership with the non-profit spans multiple years, including providing low-cost building materials for these projects and being a partner in building by providing solutions for their unique projects.
In a recent e-mail from Sebago Lakes Regional Fuller Center for Housing, the team their had this to say about our partnership:
Hancock Lumber has been our primary supplier for building materials over the past five years. They treat us like we are their BEST customer and give us great service on every project. Hancock has provided grants totaling $15,000 to support our community projects to help those in need. They also give a substantial non-profit discount on every purchase we make, which is a huge help to keep our costs down for our low-income homeowners. Hancock Lumber cares deeply for the community and has come through for Sebago Fuller Housing again and again. We are grateful for their support, and proud to honor them with our Sebago Fuller Housing Community Service Award.
A special thank you to Ray Collet, our Windham GM, and his team there, for helping coordinate all of the product recommendations, orders, deliveries, and more.
Hancock has always been immersed in the communities we serve. Deeply embedded in Hancock's culture is stewardship-we firmly believe in giving back and leaving things in better shape than when we assumed responsibility for them. Everyone we're connected to raises families, coaches, serves on boards, and gives back to their communities. We connect with organizations around the state, supporting them financially and with in-kind materials, along with the gift of time and service.
