President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan and President of Poland Andrzej Duda summarized the outcomes of their meetings in Yerevan through statements made to representatives of the media.
Statement by President Vahagn Khachaturyan:
"It is a great honor for me to host Your Excellency and the delegation you lead here in the Republic of Armenia.
Armenian-Polish relations are built upon deep historical ties and steadily developing interstate relations based on shared values. Your official visit to Armenia serves as an evidence of the friendship between our two nations and underscores the importance of Armenia-Poland cooperation.
I am pleased that today we had the opportunity to effectively discuss matters related to the current Armenian-Polish cooperation in various fields and outline new perspectives for mutual collaboration. I am confident that the agreements reached during this visit will bring a new quality to our bilateral relations.
In the context of bilateral relations, I would like to particularly emphasize the significant role of the Polish-Armenian community throughout history and express my gratitude to the friendly Polish people and the government of Poland for their warm and hospitable attitude towards the Armenian community.
Armenia highly values the current high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Poland. Poland, as the upcoming chair of the EU Council and a key architect of the Eastern Partnership, remains an important and reliable partner for Armenia in both bilateral and multilateral platforms, especially in the context of the Armenia-European Union partnership.
An essential component of political dialogue is parliamentary diplomacy, and it is gratifying to note the active interaction between the legislative bodies of our states today.
Despite the active political dialogue and steadily developing interstate relations, there remains a great untapped potential. In this regard, I believe that the regular meetings of Armenian-Polish intergovernmental commissions on economic issues are an essential tool for targeting new areas of cooperation and identifying new projects in existing fields.
We also discussed the importance of expanding cooperation in science and culture.
With my esteemed counterpart, we addressed developments in the South Caucasus as well as broader European regions, and possible ways to resolve existing challenges.
The Republic of Armenia is firmly committed to achieving lasting peace by resolving issues with neighbors through constructive dialogue and negotiations. In this context, I presented to my counterpart the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, which outlines Armenia's vision for establishing long-term peace and stability in the region."
