As Hurricane Helene moves north, the City of Cape Coral continues to monitor conditions, expecting residual tropical storm impacts this evening. The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) remains activated, working closely with Lee County and various partners to assess the situation and ensure community safety.
City Hall and ancillary offices will be open Friday for normal business hours.
"Although the worst of Hurricane Helene is behind us, we're not out of the woods yet," said Cape Coral Mayor John Gunter. "We're still expecting storm surge, heavy rain, and strong winds throughout the evening. I urge all residents to remain cautious and stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Your safety is our priority-let's continue to stay vigilant, prepared, and look out for one another as we weather the remainder of the storm together."
