SGMC Health Recognizes Malaya with BEE Award

SGMC Health honored Brent Malaya, Patient Care Technician on 3W, with the August Being Extraordinary Every day (BEE) Award. Malaya was nominated by a grateful family member of a patient, highlighting his exceptional commitment to patient care and teamwork.

In the heartfelt nomination, the family member expressed their appreciation for Malaya's dedication and compassion. "Brent has been caring for my loved one since March and has been such an awesome tech during all his visits. He's very knowledgeable and always comes in with an awesome smile ready to fulfill any needs."

The nomination also details the combined effort of Malaya and the nursing staff when the patient needs additional assistance. It reads, "He knows how to adapt to change and is always on deck to assist the nurses. I love to see employees working as a team."

The BEE Award is presented monthly and recognizes staff members who support the role of a nurse, which includes patient care technicians, nursing assistants, and medical assistants. Nomination criteria include compassion, teamwork, leadership, attitude, and skills and knowledge.
