The company is proud to support a portion of the 200,000 men and women transitioning out of the military annually.
The Kinetic Group is honored to announce a new partnership with the Manufacturing Institute's Heroes MAKE America (HMA) program.
The HMA program supports a portion of the 200,000 men and women transitioning out of the military annually. The program partners with manufacturing leaders that are building supportive veteran communities to assist them in finding a new career that leverages their talents.
"Veterans often feel displaced or dislocated after their time in service," said Tarina Pleasants, Talent Acquisition Business Partner at The Kinetic Group. "No matter how much you prepare, there is a void and loss of connection after separating from the military. But there is a similar camaraderie in the outdoor industry, and I am excited to share this with fellow veterans training for a new career in manufacturing."
Tarina spent four years in the Army (2005-2009) and was deployed to Iraq for 15 months (2007-2008). When recruiting, she often tells military-affiliated candidates that she has found a "home" in the outdoor industry.
"The passion employees have for what they do outdoors sparks them to produce, innovate and promote our products. That passion and interest for the outdoors is comparable to the camaraderie I miss so much in the military," she said, adding that employment at Remington Ammunition "truly changed her life."
Tarina has worked with Remington since 2022 and knows not all transition programs are built the same. Tarina and her team chose The Manufacturing Institute's HMA training program because of the great care its team takes in preparing our nation's heroes for a new career in manufacturing.
She said HMA was unquestionably the right military transition program for The Kinetic Group to support.
"Their success rate is tremendous," Tarina said. "And the care they take is very apparent - it takes an incredible amount of time, dedication, and attention to detail to ensure students are prepared for a new career in manufacturing when they transition out of the military. HMA does all of this and more."
HMA provides integrated certification and career-readiness training in partnership with local community colleges to prepare transitioning service members, veterans, National Guard members, reservists and military spouses for careers in manufacturing. Program participants learn the industry-specific skills, certifications and connections necessary to establish a fulfilling career in manufacturing.
As a supporter, The Kinetic Group will host a Heroes Connect Virtual Event to introduce members of the military community to the company and the opportunities it provides for veterans. The virtual session gives attendees a chance to learn more about The Kinetic Group, helps them understand the current career opportunities and offers an opportunity to connect with employees. In addition, The Kinetic Group plans to host at least two in-person Lunch & Learn events at the HMA training location in Fort Riley, Kansas.
Brands within The Kinetic Group (CCI, Federal, HEVI-Shot, Remington and Speer) have a history of proudly supporting the U.S. Military in their 400 years of combined manufacturing experience. The Kinetic Group is proud to use a new avenue to support military men and women in a manufacturing-based career.
"It's our hope that this sponsorship and hosting these events can enhance our Veteran recruitment efforts," Tarina said. "We'd love to commit to hiring at least one student from each HMA cohort."
HMA students are invited to connect to The Kinetic Group website and career page. If you're interested in learning more about how to best support this program at your location, contact Tarina Pleasants.
