The City of Hoboken will start the holiday season with a series of community events aimed at bringing residents and visitors together to celebrate and support local businesses. The events include the annual Hoboken Holiday Market and the Christmas Tree Lighting, hosted in partnership with the Hoboken Business Alliance, and the annual Menorah Lighting hosted in partnership with Chabad of Hoboken & Jersey City. To make holiday shopping more convenient, the City is also offering discount parking options to encourage people to shop small and local starting on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30.
"Celebrate the holidays in Hoboken by enjoying our festive events, exploring our vibrant local shops, and supporting the small businesses that make our city so special," said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. "To make your experience even better, we're reducing parking fees to encourage everyone to shop locally and take part in the joy of the season right here in our community."

This holiday celebration helps make the season special by bringing us all together to connect and support our city."
The City of Hoboken and the Hoboken Business Alliance invite community members to the annual Hoboken Holiday Market on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Damon Murray Community Gym at 605 Jackson St. The market, which will include activities for kids including a holiday-themed bounce house from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. as well as, crafters, and vendors. For the first time this year the market will include food trucks and a beer garden.

The City of Hoboken and Hoboken Business Alliance invite residents to the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m.
The celebration, held at 11th and Washington Streets, will include festive entertainment with Elvis the Elf, live performances by Hoboken youth and the Goldenrod Chorale, and a special visit from Santa Claus himself. Local Hoboken businesses including Merry Hot Cocoa, Caf Me if You Can, and the Hive will offer free hot cocoa and baked goods to attendees.
The Hoboken Police Department will be on-site to collect new, unwrapped toys for families in need this holiday. The Hoboken Community Center will also accept donations of non-perishable goods and hygiene items for their pantry. Mile Square Theatre and Community Lifestyles will also be present to share information about their programs and ways the community can support these crucial local nonprofits.
The City will provide senior Hop shuttle service to and from the tree lighting. Pickup will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center at 124 Grand St. and stop at the following locations:
Following the event, pickup will be at 12th and Washington Streets.
The City and Chabad of Hoboken & Jersey City invite community members to the annual Menorah Lighting on Sunday, Dec. 29. The celebration will be held at Hoboken City Hall. and include the annual gelt drop with the Hoboken Fire Department. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
To encourage local dining and shopping, the City will offer free parking for up to four hours in municipal Garage B (28 Second Street), Garage D (215 Hudson Street), and the Midtown Garage (371 Fourth Street). To redeem this offer, drivers will need to show the garage attendant a receipt for a $20 minimum purchase from any Hoboken shop or restaurant. The free parking offer will be available on weekends starting Saturday, Nov. 30, through Jan. 2, 2025.
The City also offers a parking reservations program, allowing residents and visitors to reserve a parking space in Municipal Garage B, Garage D, and the Midtown Garage. Reservations can be made through the ParkMobile app and booked Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., and from 6 p.m. on Fridays to midnight on Sundays.
The City is also providing discounted on-street metered parking through Dec. 31. Drivers can use promo code "PARKHOB" in the ParkMobile app to enjoy 50 percent off parking sessions in select business district zones. Eligible zones can be viewed by clicking here.
