Worker Safety Webinar for Safe + Sound Week

The NYS Workers' Compensation Board (Board) is pleased to announce a new webinar on worker safety, taking place on August 12, 2024, during the nationwide Safe + Sound Week.

The Worker Safety Webinar will feature Board Chair Clarissa M. Rodriguez, Advocate for Injured Workers Joe Cavalcante, Advocate for Business Anthony Tomaselli, and special guest Denise Abbott, Health & Safety Director, Communications Workers of America, Local 1168.

Topics to be covered during this one-hour session include:

• the importance of workplace safety,
• what to do if you feel unsafe at a workplace,
• worker rights and protections, including how to file a claim,
• how labor and management can partner to create safer workplaces,
• employer safety incentives, and
• other best practices to keep New Yorkers safe at work.
