As we continue to enhance our campus facilities and streamline our operations in preparation for the DASH Oracle Maintenance Cloud (OMC) implementation in January 2025, the UT Health Science Center has some important updates to share with you regarding our Facilities Department standards and procedures. Please take a moment to review the following information and reminders to ensure a smooth transition and continued efficient operation of our services.

Facilities is responsible for maintenance and operation of the university's physical plant. As such, it is the goal of Facilities to provide a clean, safe work and learning environment for the university's students, faculty, and staff. In general, Facilities is responsible only for maintaining a facility in its current configuration.

This Standard provides more detail as to what costs are covered by Facilities for the campus and what costs are the responsibility of the requesting department.
-
Facilities is responsible for maintenance and operation of the university's physical plant/campus. Routine maintenance, including cost of labor, materials and purchased services, are typically paid for by the Facilities Department on university-owned buildings, rooms, and maintainable equipment.
-
Costs associated with special requests and non-university-owned equipment are typically the responsibility of the requesting department may include the cost of labor, materials, and purchased services.
-
As of January 2025, the Facilities Department will start to charge for the maintenance and fuel for departmental vehicles. This includes fuel, labor, materials, and purchased services (e.g., vehicle registration, selected vehicle maintenance, auto body work, towing).
