Route 14 Temporary Connector Project Continues in Lewis Township, Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA - Motorists are advised work to construct a temporary roadway in Trout Run, Lewis Township, Lycoming County continues. Once complete, the road will temporarily connect Route 14 to Lycoming Creek Road (Route 1017), while design continues on the bridge replacement over Trout Run.

Update

  • The contractor, HRI, Inc., will be paving the temporary roadway on Friday, August 30, 2024, and Saturday, August 31, 2024. Finishing work such as line painting will be performed on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, weather pending.
  • The utility company has supplied power for the new traffic signals which are expected to be installed and activated Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Work on the project includes construction of a temporary roadway north and south of where the damaged bridge was removed.

During Construction of the temporary connector traffic will be controlled by flagging operations as needed.

Long term Traffic Impacts
South Connector

  • Traffic will be controlled by a temporary traffic signal at the intersection with Route 14, Lycoming Creek Road, and Mill Street.

North Connector

  • Traffic will be controlled by a stop sign in all directions at the intersection of Route 14, Lycoming Creek Road, and Trout Run Mountain Road (Route 1002).
  • Intersection improvements will be completed at this location to accommodate turn movements.

Motorists traveling Lycoming Creek Road should be alert and drive with caution. Work on this project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, September 6, weather permitting.
