Cooper University Health Care’s Human Resources Department Named “Regional Large Company HR Department of the Year”

(CAMDEN, NJ) Cooper University Health Care's Human Resources department was selected as the Regional Large Company HR Department of the Year at the Tri-State Human Resource Management Association (HRMA) annual awards dinner held recently in Philadelphia.

"Our HR team's dedication to fostering a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and support has been truly inspiring. Winning this award underscores their hard work and the positive impact they have on our entire organization," said Beth Green, SPHR, PCC, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Cooper.

Serving Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties, Tri-State HRMA is a human resource management association with more than 300 members in the region, providing networking opportunities, continuing education, and sharing of best practices. Now in its 25th year, the HR Department of the Year Awards recognizes the impact that human resources professionals deliver to their organizations.

Cooper's Human Resources department was honored as the esteemed Regional Large Company HR Department of the Year. Over the past two transformative years, the department has demonstrated leadership and innovation through key initiatives, including:

  • Advancing technological innovation and operational excellence while maintaining a people-first strategy.
  • Revamping recruitment efforts to thrive in a highly competitive talent market.
  • Enhancing team member engagement and retention, with a focus on well-being initiatives, workplace safety programs, and clinical staffing resources.
  • Driving workforce development, building critical pipelines through partnerships with schools and colleges.
  • Launching the first Team Resource Groups (TRGs)-Latino, LGBTQ+, Black, and Multicultural-to advance Cooper's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

These efforts underscore Cooper's dedication to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and innovative workplace.

Cooper achieved this recognition through participation in a rigorous application process. Finalists participated in a comprehensive interview process, where judges assessed the impact of the work of HR as it aligns with the organization's strategic focus. There were 27 finalists in the running for this recognition. The highly regarded Department of the Year recognition places a spotlight on HR departments' demonstration of excellence.
