Colt CZ Group Supports Czech Veterans and the Military Solidarity Fund
Prague (November 11, 2024) - Colt CZ Group is a proud partner of Czech armed forces personnel and has long supported Czech war veterans. On the occasion of this year's Veterans Day, which is observed annually on November 11, the Group's CEO, Jan Drahota, presented a symbolic check for 430,000 CZK to the Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Karel Řehka. The funds were allocated to the Military Solidarity Fund through the purchase of red poppies, which Colt CZ Group donated to the Fund.
"It is an honor for us to contribute to the Military Solidarity Fund through the purchase of poppies for the Veterans Day collection. The funds raised from the sale of these poppies will provide additional financial support to our soldiers, veterans, and their families. We extend our gratitude to all our professional soldiers, members of the active reserves, and veterans for their dedicated service to our country," said Jan Drahota, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Colt CZ Group, during the check handover.
"I greatly appreciate the longstanding support of the Military Solidarity Fund from Colt CZ Group. This contribution will help care for our veterans and their families, fulfilling the mission symbolized by the red poppies," said Chief of the General Staff Karel Řehka.
Colt CZ Group has consistently supported not only soldiers and veterans but also police officers, firefighters, and their families. In 2022, a charity auction of two hand-engraved pistols, the CZ 75 and Colt 1911 from the limited-edition "Tribute to Legends," raised an impressive 1.7 million CZK. These funds were donated to the Military Solidarity Fund, Fund for Police Officers and Firefighters, and the Ukrainian Embassy in the Czech Republic to support the Ukrainian armed forces. This auction followed previous charitable auctions of limited-edition CZ 75 pistols - the CZ 75 Order of the White Lion and the CZ 75 Republic - whose proceeds also benefited the Military Solidarity Fund and the Foundation for Police Officers and Firefighters.
The Military Solidarity Fund was established in 2015 with the mission to improve the quality of life for the children of soldiers who have died or were injured in the line of duty, resulting in permanent consequences. Its objectives also include supporting soldiers during critical periods following catastrophic events related to their service and mitigating the negative social impacts on the families of soldiers and war veterans who find themselves in difficult situations through no fault of their own.
