Building on the growing momentum at Bowling Green State University, Homecoming 2024 offered alumni, friends and supporters an opportunity to reconnect, relive cherished memories and experience firsthand the exciting, vibrant campus atmosphere. Whether reminiscing with old friends or forging new connections, attendees at the 102nd Homecoming were treated to an array of captivating events that highlight BGSU as the No. 1 public university in Ohio for student experience and opportunities.
From honoring a new class of distinguished BGSU alumni to celebrating the state-of-the-art Technology Engineering Innovation Center groundbreaking, singing along at the Phil Vassar concert and witnessing a surprise Falcon Flames proposal, BGSU Homecoming 2024 was an unforgettable celebration filled with countless experiences.
University photographers Craig Bell, Justin Camuso-Stall '14 and Haven Conn '22, along with student photographers Daniel Carlson and Keira Ellenberger, captured the fun and festivities. BGSU inducted three accomplished alumni into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni, one of the University's highest honors. Read more about the honorees here.
As another example of the continued momentum happening at BGSU, the state-of-the-art facility, set to be completed in spring 2026, will add 24,000 square feet to the current structure with flexible spaces to support high-tech equipment, tools and innovative learning.
From aerial performers to fire jugglers, there were activities for all ages to enjoy on Friday, Sept. 27, during the Welcome Back party. Homecoming guests also explored interactive exhibits in art, history, science and more at the Night at the Museum event in University Hall.
On your mark, get set, go! Falcons and community members dashed in and around campus during the 5K run on Saturday morning. The top male finisher was Cory Jay with a time of 17:35. The top female finisher was Morgan Kaminski with a time of 25:45. There were 191 total finishers.
Inflatables, mini golf, face paint and more were part of this year's Falconland on the Bowen-Thompson Quadrangle and Union Oval. Homecoming guests also enjoyed a complimentary BiG Breakfast, snapped photos at the selfie station by the BGSU letters and enjoyed popping bubbles in the Kids Zone.
Award-winning country artist and songwriter Phil Vassar performed for an energized Homecoming crowd before the football game on Saturday, Sept. 28.
BGSU Falcon Marching Band alumnus Mitchell Cash '24 surprised Ana Cunningham '24 with a proposal during the band's pregame show at Homecoming.
From high-flying cheer stunts to performances by one of the nation's largest marching bands to a stadium filled with cheering fans dressed in orange, Homecoming celebrations continued at Doyt L. Perry Stadium for the Falcons football game.
