SUBJ/2D MARINE LOGISTICS GROUP ANNIVERSARY//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. On behalf of all Marines, it is my honor to
congratulate the Marines and Sailors of 2d Marine Logistics Group
on the occasion of its 80th anniversary.
2. Since its activation as the 8th Field Depot at Pearl Harbor on
1 August 1944, the 2d Marine Logistics Group has unfailingly
provided critical logistical support to Marines in combat at places
like Iwo Jima, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan, while also enabling
rapid humanitarian assistance at home and around the globe. No
matter the clime and place, 2d Marine Logistics Group has excelled
and innovated to embody its motto: You Will Never Fight Alone.
3. As you celebrate your anniversary, pause to remember those who
made the ultimate sacrifice and know that your fellow Marines honor
your service with gratitude. Take pride in all who have been
sustained, supported, and saved by your dedication.
