Christine Lepkowski named HBS Interim Dean

Christine Lepkowski has been named as the new interim dean of Herberger Business School (HBS) by Interim Provost Katherina Pattit, who recently left the position to take on the interim provost role.

A proud St. Cloud State alum, Dr. Lepkowski received her M.S. in Higher Education Administration at SCSU, before attending University of Minnesota where she received a Ph.D. in Higher Education. She has worked in HBS for over 16 years and has developed a deep understanding of its mission, values, goals, and culture.

"Dr. Lepkowski is a true servant leader, and I look forward to working with her closely in her new role." Interim Provost Pattit said in an email to faculty and staff. "She will bring valuable new perspectives to the university leadership team."

Herberger Business School has a long tradition of providing exceptional business education in Minnesota, becoming one of the first accredited business schools in the country in 1976, and has been honored in recent years for its innovative approach to the MBA program, which has seen significant enrollment growth since switching to an online, accelerated format that is more appealing for adult learners. HBS recently extended their accreditation through AACSB International, a hallmark of excellence in business education.

As she settles into her new role, Dr. Lepkowski will focus on ensuring the school's programming is student-centered and innovative to achieve the best outcomes for graduates, fostering a strong sense of belonging among HBS faculty, staff, and students to create a positive and engaging learning environment for Huskies, and maintaining and enhancing practices to continue the high standards of AACSB accreditation.

Plans for a national search for the next Dean of the Herberger Business School are underway, and updates will be provided as they become available.
