Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Oct. 28 - Nov. 3, 2024

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.-The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid-Missouri area Oct. 28- Nov. 3, 2024. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures whichcould cause delays.  

All Counties

Moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, brush cutting,and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

Boone County

Route B - Pavement repairs planned Oct. 28. The northbound lane will be CLOSEDfrom Brown Station Road to Oakland Church Road, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route A - Resurfacing scheduled to begin Oct. 28from Route B (Randolph County) to Missouri Route 124.One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

Interstate 70westbound, Route O, and Route J-Bridge repaircontinuesonwestbound I-70 over Routes O and J.The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024. Traffic impacts include:

• The right-hand (driving) lane of westbound I-70 will be rerouted to the on- and off- ramps at Exit 117for the duration of the repair project.

• Routes O and J are CLOSEDunder the bridge.

• Route O is detouredto Route BB (Exit 115).

• Route J isdetouredto U.S. Route 40(Exit 121).

• No access to/from westbound I-70 and Routes O and J.

• No accessto/from eastbound I-70 andRoute J.

• Eastbound I-70 to/fromRoute O remainsopens.

I-70- Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The new eastbound bridge is scheduled to open to trafficin December 2024. 

Route TT-Upgrades to pedestrian facilities plannedon Broadway bythe city of Columbia, between Route ZZand Silvey Street. The project is scheduled for completion in December2024.

U.S. Route 63 - Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through August 2025. I-70 - New pavement construction continues in Columbia from Route B (Paris Road) to east of the Connector (east of exit 128A) through January 2027 as part of the Improve I-70 program. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity.

Callaway County

Route M - Pothole patching planned Oct. 30 at County Road 254. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

U.S. Route 54 - Resurfacing continues from Holts Summit to Fulton. Single-lane closures will occur at varying times, depending on the location. Expect delays during morning/evening rush hours. The project is expected to continue through November 2024.

I-70- New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line to Kingdom City(near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program.Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity

Camden County

Route A - Shoulder work planned Oct. 28- 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Cole County

U.S. Route 54- Bridge rehabilitation continues over U.S. Route 50 and McCarty Street in Jefferson City. U.S. Route 54 will remain open but is narrowed to one lane in each direction between south of the Missouri River and Business Route 50 (Missouri Boulevard). Width restrictions are in place. The project is scheduled for completion the week of Nov. 4.

Missouri Boulevard- Ramp CLOSEDfrom Missouri Boulevard to eastbound U.S. Route 54 through Nov. 8. Motorist must use an alternate route.

West Main Street - Ramp CLOSEDfrom westbound U.S. Route 54 to West Main Streetthrough Nov. 8. Motorist must use an alternate route.

U.S. Route 50 - Ramp CLOSEDfrom eastbound U.S. Route 54 to U.S. Route 50 (east and westbound) through Nov. 8. Motorist must use an alternate route.

Route B -Bridge rehabilitation continues over the Moreau River near Wardsville. One lane will remain open and temporary traffic signals are in place to guide motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in November2024.

Route D - Bridge deck replacement continuesover North Moreau CreekBridge. The road is CLOSEDbetween Hunters Haven Drive and Knoll Road, anda signed detour isin place. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.

Cooper County

Missouri Route 179 - Roadside work planned Oct. 28- 31.One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

I-70- Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The new eastbound bridge is scheduled to open to trafficin December 2024. 

Crawford County

North Outer Road 44 - Milling and resurfacing planned Oct. 28- 31from Route J to Essman Dunn Road in the city of Bourbon. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Old Route 66- Diamond grinding planned Oct.28 - 31from Route UU to Outer Road 44. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route Y - Culvert replacement plannedOct. 28- 31from Missouri Route 49in Viburnum (Iron County)to Route V.One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route DD - Shoulder work planned Oct. 28- 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Routes 8and 19 -Upgrades to pedestrian facilities in the city of Steelville. One lane will remain open in each direction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in November.  

Gasconade County

Missouri Route 19 - Bridge maintenance planned Oct. 28 - Nov. 1 at the BourbeuseRiver Bridge.One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Howard County

Missouri Route 5 - Culvert replacement planned Oct. 28 - 31 from Route V in Glasgow (CharitonCounty) to Valley View Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Routes Aand AA- Resurfacing scheduled to begin Oct. 28. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

Laclede County

Route VV - Culvert replacement planned Oct. 28. The road will be CLOSEDfrom Lonesome Road to Katrina Lane, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route.

Route V - Culvert replacement planned Oct. 28 - 29. The road will be CLOSEDfrom Skyline Drive to Rowcrop Road, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Motorists must use an alternate route.

Route O - Bridge maintenance planned Oct. 28 - Nov. 1 at the Gasconade River Bridge.One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route AD - Bridge maintenance planned Oct. 28 - Nov. 1 at the Gasconade River Bridge.One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 64 - Bridge replacementcontinuesat the Goodwin HollowCreek Bridge.The road is CLOSEDto all trafficwith asigned detour inplace. The project is scheduled for completion in November2024.

Route B - Bridge deck replacement continuesat the Osage Fork Bridge. The road isCLOSEDto all trafficwith asigned detour in place.The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.

Maries County

Missouri Route 42 - Bridge inspectionplanned Oct. 28- 31at the Gasconade River Bridge. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. A 14-foot width restriction is in place.

Missouri Route 133 - Roadside work planned Oct. 28- 31from County Road 218 tothe city limits of Meta(Osage County). One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route C - Roadside work planned Oct. 28 - 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route AA - Pothole patching planned Oct. 28- 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Miller County

Route P - Culvert replacement planned Oct. 28 - 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Moniteau County

Missouri Route 87 - Culvert replacement planned Oct. 28- 31from Route D (Cooper County)to Route U. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Morgan County

Missouri Route 52- Culvert replacement planned Oct. 30at Route N. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Phelps County

Route B - Culvert replacement planned Oct. 28 - 31 from I-44 to Route E. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Routes P, andCC- Pothole patching planned Oct. 28- 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route HH - Culvert replacement planned Oct. 28 - 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Routes 8and DD-Upgrades to pedestrian facilities in the city of St. James. One lane will remain open in each direction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. The project is scheduled for completion in October2024.  

I-44 -Road resurfacing and reconstruction continues from Exit 186 in Rolla to Exit 195 in St. James. Expect around-the-clock lane closures from U.S. Route 63 to Missouri Route 68. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The end date for the project is yet to be determinedbased on concrete qualityissuesthat will need to be corrected. Pulaski County

Missouri Route 28 - Shoulder work planned Oct. 28 - 31 at Columbia Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Routes D, O, and Y - Shoulder work planned Oct. 28- 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

I-44 - Bridge maintenance continues at mile marker 160. Nightly lane closures are expected from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The project is scheduled for completion in December 2024.

Business Loop 44 -Bridge rehabilitation continues over I-44in St. Robert.Business Loop 44 is open but narrowed to one lane in each direction in a head-to-head configuration. An 11-foot width restriction isin place. The project is scheduled for completion in December2024. 

Washington County

Missouri Route 21 - Shoulder work planned Oct. 28- 31from Missouri Route 47 to the Jefferson County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route 47-Bridge rehabilitationcontinuesover Mineral Fork Creek. Traffic is narrowedto one lane with temporary signals in place. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2024.
