Washington, D.C. - Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management Chairman Scott Perry (R-PA) announced that the Subcommittee will hold a hearing with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell to examine the agency's preparedness and response to recent disasters, including Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
In the wake of troubling reports that emergency aid was not reaching disaster victims, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) and Subcommittee Chairman Perry recently launched an investigation into FEMA's preparation, response strategies, and capacity to provide sufficiently prompt relief to victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. More recently, additional reports have surfaced that some FEMA officials may have de-prioritized assisting homes displaying Trump for President campaign signs. Subcommittee Members will have the opportunity to raise these issues and others at next week's hearing
The hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.
Witness List:
Panel I
Panel II
