FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FOLDING BIRDS FOR PEACE

workshop date: September 25, 3-5pm

Mathias Fine Art is excited to announce a special workshop in connection with the current exhibition RELIEF - an exploration.

Mona Shiber will present a workshop called FOLDING BIRDS FOR PEACE at Mathias Fine Art where Shiber will teach participants a paper folding technique - similar to Origami - to create doves and cranes. Shiber has prepared a kit consisting of different papers, which will be used for folding. The artist will also speak about her latest project PeaceBirds. Shiber a gifted ceramic artist, has a gorgeous triptych 'Movement thru Still Moments' and two one-of-a-kind hand-made books on display at the Trevett gallery. These books delight with their creative combination of Shiber's exceptional levels in the traditional skills of book binding, paper-folding and ceramics. They are desirable art objects in themselves or they could become treasure troves of your favorite writings, quotes or thought. Based in Massachussetts, Mona Shiber has been visiting and falling in love with Maine for over a decade.

To sign up and reserve a space for this special workshop please e-mail us at [email protected] or call 207-633-7404 with any workshop-related questions. The price for participation is $25/person or $40 for two. The fee includes materials. Payable by check or cash. We look forward to seeing you there.

RELIEF - an exploration will be on view through Sept. 29th during regular gallery hours, which are Wed-Sun 12-5pm. Beginning Oct. 1st Mathias Fine Art is open by appointment.
