According to a recent study conducted by Slack, a Salesforce company, small business owners are losing an average of 96 minutes of productivity daily, which amounts to three weeks of lost time per year. The study also found that technology helps save them time and effort. In particular, millennials report being more likely to use technology to help optimize their time - even more so than Gen Z.
Why it matters: At the beginning of 2024, 40% of small businesses considered this a make or break year. The businesses, which generate roughly 44% of U.S. GDP, must squeeze every ounce of productivity from their days in order to survive.

This random double-opt-in survey of 2,000 U.S. small business owners (businesses with 2,000 or fewer employees), split evenly by generation, was commissioned by Slack and administered and conducted online by Talker Research between June 28 and July 3, 2024.
