SummaCare Shares Updated Medicare Advantage Plan Offerings for 2025 Plan Year

AKRON, Ohio, October 1, 2024-From October 15 to December 7, Medicare-eligible individuals have the opportunity to enroll in one of SummaCare's 2025 Medicare Advantage plans.

Based in Akron, SummaCare's Medicare Advantage plan service area includes 33 northern Ohio counties. Members have access to more than 25,000 providers and 75 hospitals. Additionally, 97 percent of the Medicare Advantage members who join SummaCare: stay.

SummaCare's 2025 Medicare Advantage plans start as low as $0/month. Plan updates for the 2025 plan year include:

General Updates*

  • Reduced monthly premiums on Jade (HMO), Garnet (HMO), Ruby (HMO) and Emerald (HMO-POS) plans.
  • Topaz (HMO), Jade (HMO) and Garnet (HMO) plans add travel coverage for NC and SC.
  • Increased OTC quarterly benefit allowance on Ruby (HMO) and Topaz (HMO) plans.
  • Maximum Out-of-Pocket (MOOP) as low as $2,800 on Emerald (HMO-POS).
  • Topaz (HMO) plan OTC quarterly allowance raised to $90 with the flexibility to also be used for healthy groceries**

Dental Updates:

  • Coverage for bridges, crowns and dentures added to Ruby (HMO) plan.
  • Dental maximums increased for Garnet (HMO) and Ruby (HMO) plans.

* Benefits vary by plan selected and county availability. **This benefit is part of a special supplemental program for the chronically ill; members must have a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus type 1 or type 2, congestive heart failure, chronic kidney disease, COPD, coronary artery disease, chronic non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, autoimmune disease, chronic and disabling mental health conditions, or neurologic disorders to choose/utilize it.
