City of Milton Dedicates Myson McKenney Memorial, Highlights Traffic Safety Awareness

MILTON, FL - The City of Milton unveiled a memorial on Monday, October 28, at the intersection of Byrom and Magnolia Streets, the site where 14-year-old Myson McKenney tragically lost his life on October 26, 2023. This tribute commemorates a young life cherished by the community and serves as a reminder of the importance of safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike.

City Manager Ed Spears shared his thoughts on the dedication, saying, "It was important to us that Myson's family had the opportunity to create this tribute in their own words, drawing from their personal memories and love for him. I'm incredibly proud of our team's work to help bring the family's vision to life, and we hope it brings Myson's family comfort while reminding the community to stay mindful of safety."

The City extends its sincere thanks to the City Council, Milton High School's NJROTC, and the McKenney family for their contributions in making this dedication possible, as well as the many friends, loved ones, and community members who attended in support.
