Media Statement: Éléonore Incident

Newmont Corporationis deeply saddened to confirm a colleague has died at our Éléonore site in Northern Quebec on Sunday, September 29.

Details regarding the cause of death are currently under investigation. The colleague was a contract partner to Newmont and employed by Duroking. Senior leadership is on site to assist authorities with their investigations. Newmont will cooperate fully with the investigations of the authorities.

Newmont is committed to uncovering the learnings from these findings which will be embedded into Newmont's safety systems. As the incident occurred in an isolated area of the site and does not impact the wider operations, the site remains open.
