Vice-President of the National Assembly Rositsa Kirova participated in the World Women's Forum in Ulaanbaatar

Vice-President of the National Assembly Rositsa Kirova participated in the World Women's Forum themed: "For a Green Future', organized by the Presidential Administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia in cooperation with the UN in the capital Ulaanbaatar on 22 and 23 August 2024.

The purpose of the Forum is to conduct a constructive dialogue on women's empowerment and gender equality and their importance for building fair, prosperous and peaceful societies, as well as the full participation of women leaders in ensuring inclusive environmental action on climate change and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Forum brings together women leaders from all fields of public life, including heads of state and government, ministers, heads of international organisations and international non-governmental organisations, UN Goodwill Ambassadors, as well as businesswomen, artists and athletes.

In her speech, the Vice-President of the National Assembly noted that in Bulgaria the share of women employed in the field of technology is the highest in the European Union, and the country is in EU's top three in terms of share of women scientists and engineers.

During the Forum, the Vice-President of the Bulgarian Parliament also met with the President of the Mongolian State Great Hural (Parliament), the Minister of Roads and Transport and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Light Industry.

During her visit to Mongolia, Rositsa Kirova laid flowers in front of the Cyrillic alphabet monument in the capital Ulaanbaatar and spoke with local government officials and school principals from the area. She met with the teachers and students from the 118th school, where the monument has been erected, and viewed the specially arranged exhibition on the theme "Who knows more Bulgaria".
