Appeal after fatal collision in Merton

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Colliers Wood.

At around 12.15 hrs on Sunday, 28 July, police and London Ambulance Service were called to reports of a collision between a car and four pedestrians on the A24 Merantun Way

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, one of the pedestrians, a 49-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver stopped at the scene and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

Three other pedestrians involved were taken to hospital, where their condition has been assessed as not life-threatening. Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision

The investigation is led by officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Merton

There have been no arrests.
