Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Judiciary and Anti-Corruption Momo Koprivica held a meeting with Jessica Carl, Director of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) at the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro, and other representatives of the INL office.
The discussion emphasized the adaptation of the former Government building to serve the needs of the Special State Prosecutor's Office and the Special Police Department. Particular focus was also placed on the importance of the draft Law on Judicial Police, aimed at strengthening the judicial system and enhancing operational support for judicial institutions.
Representatives of the U.S. Embassy and INL expressed their support for these reforms, highlighting the importance of improving the judiciary's capacity to effectively combat corruption and organized crime. They underscored their readiness to provide expert and technical assistance for strengthening the judicial police, as well as broader support for advancing judicial capacities.
The meeting also included discussions on intensifying collaboration with the Faculty of Law, focusing on knowledge exchange, joint training sessions, and the development of professional training programs for future legal professionals.
Deputy Prime Minister Koprivica extended his gratitude to the U.S. Embassy and INL for their ongoing support of judicial reforms. He reaffirmed the Government's commitment to further advancing the legislative framework to ensure an efficient, transparent, and modern judicial system.
