Gilmer Street closures planned for Tuesday, Oct. 8-Friday, Oct. 11

KILLEEN, Texas (Oct. 7, 2024) - The City of Killeen Department of Engineering will be closing additional sections of Gilmer Street starting Tuesday, Oct. 8 through Friday, Oct. 11, as part of the Gilmer Street Reconstruction, to adjust the existing sewer connections.

The Gilmer Street closure schedule is:

• Tuesday, Oct. 8, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.: West Avenue C to Adams Avenue
• Thursday, Oct. 9-Friday, Oct. 11, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Adams Avenue to McArthur Drive

The work includes the excavation, removal and installation of a new sewer line.

The contractor will have a traffic control plan in place and will detour traffic around the work area. Motorists should anticipate delays and are asked to use caution and obey traffic control devices.
