GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. Reserve Affairs (RA) annually conducts
Total Force Integration Staff Training (TFIST) Continuum Courses as
Professional Military Education (PME) for Active Reserve (AR)
officers and senior enlisted Marines. The following are the
established FY25 dates for Basic TFIST, Advanced TFIST (A-TFIST),
Senior TFIST Symposium (S-TFIST), and Enlisted TFIST (E-TFIST). All
courses will be conducted at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA.
2. Basic TFIST: Session 1, 22-24 October 2024; Session 2, 18-20
March 2025. The target audience for Basic TFIST are newly accessed
AR officers. Marines shall attend only one of the two sessions.
2.a. This course orients AR officers to their roles and
responsibilities as members of the AR Program and provides the
opportunity to discuss contemporary Reserve Component (RC) issues
with their peers, develop camaraderie, and prepare for successful
tours as reserve integrators.
2.b. Accessed AR officers are required to complete Basic TFIST to be
considered for AR career designation.
3. A-TFIST: 7-9 May 2025. AR officers must have completed Basic
TFIST to be eligible to attend A-TFIST.
3.a. The purpose of A-TFIST is to further educate field grade AR
officers who serve in critical reserve integration billets.
3.b. As AR officers progress within their careers, it is necessary
to ensure they receive ongoing, relevant training to support their RC
integration roles. This course consists of instruction and material
which enable AR officers to succeed in senior assignments such as
Reserve Integration Officers and Reserve Liaison Officers, Individual
Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Operational Sponsors, and other billets
focused on reserve integration.
4. S-TFIST: 26-27 August 2025. Registration is open for all AR
colonels and AR colonel-selects.
4.a. This symposium is an open forum discussion designed for senior
AR officers to receive and discuss the latest Marine Corps
initiatives and potential impacts to the RC. S-TFIST also provides
participants the opportunity to discuss AR senior leader roles within
reserve advocacy.
5. E-TFIST: 7-9 May 2025. E-TFIST is for AR staff noncommissioned
officers (SNCOs).
5.a. This course orients AR SNCOs to their roles and
responsibilities as senior enlisted members of the AR Program and how
to effectively serve as reserve integrators in support of the Marine
Corps Total Force.
