GOVERNOR LAMONT NEEDS TO COME HOME AND HELP BAIL OUT THE TOWNS DROWNING FROM STORM DAMAGE

MIDDLETOWN - This weekend, many communities in Connecticut were hit by devastating rains, washing out major and minor roads, inflicting damage to government, business, and residential properties, and most upsetting, causing the loss of life. Governor Ned Lamont, who has been on vacation for the past week and is now in Chicago for the Democrat's National Convention, has left Senator Martin Looney in charge of this disaster.

"The Governor is in Chicago at the sham Democratic National Convention to enjoy the generosity of major donors and hobnob with politicos from around the country, while parts of Connecticut are literally drowning," said Republican State Chairman Ben Proto.

"As the Chief Executive Officer of our State, Governor Lamont needs to get on a plane and get back to Connecticut and lead us through the cleanup (including quickly procuring federal disaster aid from the Biden/Harris administration) that so many towns and people will need."

"The Democrats, last week, nominated Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, by way of a "virtual" vote, in what may be the single most undemocratic nominating process America has ever seen, and yet Governor Lamont can't seem to tear himself away from this week-long party to come back and help the people of Connecticut" continue Proto.

"Governor Lamont, if you need to, the Connecticut Republican Party will help you arrange a flight back to Connecticut as soon as possible. Just give us the word, and we will get you back to Connecticut to do the job you were elected to do," said Proto.

"I well understand the importance of a national convention. However, the needs of the people impacted by this disaster must come before politics and putting on a TV show. Come home, Governor, your constituents need you far more than the Democrat Party right now," concluded Proto.
