HHSC is highlighting programs and resources to support optimal health during National Wellness Month in August.

Physical Activity and Healthy Eating

Texercise offers free resources and programs to engage adults 45 and older in regular physical activity and healthy eating.

Social Connection

Regular social engagement and having a social support network can help reduce loneliness and lessen stress, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

HHSC Age Well Live Well provides information, tools and resources for social engagement. Among these is Know Your Neighbor (PDF), which encourages Texans to form and maintain new connections with older neighbors to help reduce the risks of isolation and loneliness.

To download resources on staying engaged and connected to your community, use the Aging Well Resources Order Form and select "Social Engagement" in the category menu.
