Marilyn Stevenson Takes Office as Franklin County Treasurer

On Monday, September 30, Marilyn Stevenson was sworn into office as the Franklin County Treasurer. She succeeds Jody Edwards, who resigned from her position effective September 30 as part of her retirement from the County. Jody's resignation occurred near the end of her four-year term, prompting the local party to select a successor. Marilyn was selected and then submitted to the governor for approval.

Marilyn began her career with Franklin County in September 2017 and transitioned to the role of Deputy Treasurer in 2018, where she has served since. Among her proudest achievements is her involvement in the selection and implementation of the countywide software project, where her contributions have been vital to the process.

"I'm honored to be in this position and excited to take on this role." said Marilyn. As Treasurer, she also oversees the Motor Vehicle Office. "One of my main goals is to build a strong, collaborative team across both offices, ensuring longevity and effectiveness," said Marilyn.

A native of the area, Marilyn was born and raised north of Pomona and graduated from Pomona High School (now West Franklin). She and her husband have lived near Ottawa since 1996.

Marilyn's current term will end September 30, 2025. She won the Primary Election in August 2024 and will appear on the ballot in the upcoming General Election in November, unopposed.
