McCourt School of Public Policy to Inaugurate New Home on Capitol Hill

Ribbon Cutting of New Georgetown University Building to Feature Local and Federal Dignitaries

WASHINGTON-Georgetown University and the McCourt School of Public Policy will celebrate the opening of their new building at 125 E St. NW on Georgetown's Capitol Campus on September 12. The ribbon cutting event will feature remarks from local and national leaders to illustrate how the McCourt School's move from the Hilltop to the Hill brings its community closer to opportunities to work, learn and serve in a city that shapes the world.

With an iconic auditorium, sweeping Capitol views, an indoor-outdoor rooftop event space and custom installations throughout the building by renowned artist and architect Maya Lin, the McCourt School's new building on Georgetown's Capitol Campus is designed to cultivate interdisciplinary collaboration and inspire new ideas.

The new McCourt School building is located on Georgetown's Capitol Campus in the heart of Downtown at 125 E St. NW, between 1st and 2nd streets, just blocks from the U.S. Capitol, adjacent to Georgetown's Law Center, and next door to 500 1st St., the home of McCourt's research centers. The new building will unite McCourt School students, faculty, research centers and staff in the same location for the first time in the school's history, accelerating collaboration and spurring new partnerships. The location will serve as a front door to Georgetown University for the policy, political and local communities, deepening the university's ties to the people it serves and its impact for the common good.
