J.D. Vance Joins Vulnerable House Republicans in Scrubbing Anti-Abortion Position From Public Eye

After getting the nod to be Trump's Vice President, J.D. Vance quickly - and quietly - scrubbed his anti-abortion position that seeks to "END ABORTION" from his past campaign websites.

"Eliminating abortion is first and foremost about protecting the unborn," Vance wrote on his website as of Tuesday, before receiving the vice presidential nomination. Now, his website has been completely scrubbed.

Vance joins the company of vulnerable House Republicans and far-right candidates who have desperately attempted to cover up their out-of-touch, anti-abortion records in some of the most competitive races in the country.

According to reporting from CNN and other outlets, multiple Republican members and candidates have all scrubbed their websites or have tried to hide past statements supporting abortion bans or other efforts to severely restrict women's freedoms. The Republicans called out are:

Incumbents:

  • David Schweikert (AZ-01)

  • Michelle Steel (CA-45)

  • Zach Nunn (IA-03)

  • Don Bacon (NE-02)

  • Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07)

  • Nick LaLota (NY-01)

  • Brandon Williams (NY-22)

  • Monica De La Cruz (TX-15)

  • Jen Kiggans (VA-02)

Candidates:

  • Joe Kent (WA-03)

  • Alison Esposito (NY-18)

  • Tom Barrett (MI-07)

  • Yvette Herrell (NM-02)

  • Rob Mercuri (PA-17)

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
"Welcome to the club, JD. You are now a member of the growing list of anti-abortion extremists who have pledged to ban abortion nationwide - only to scrub their websites because they know how unpopular their beliefs are. Too bad for you, the internet is forever."
