Investigation into Fatal Crash at 9800 Telephone Road

August 29, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9800 Telephone Road about 5:20 a.m. today (August 29).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer L. Ho reported:

The male, a pedestrian, was walking in a moving lane of traffic near the above address when he was struck by a red Ford Explorer traveling southbound. The driver stopped and remained at the scene. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounce the male deceased.

The male driver, 46, who was determined not to be impaired, was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
