RPNM Statement on Biden’s Address to the Nation Since Announcing Withdrawal from Presidential Race

ALBUQUERQUE, JULY 24-This evening, President Joe Biden addressed the nation in person after being absent from the public eye for multiple days and since announcing via social media that he was dropping out of the presidential race.

"Tonight, President Biden did not address why he decided to step down from the presidential race or assure Americans that he is fit to carry out the rest of his term," said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce.

"President Biden attempted to solidify his legacy tonight, but it fell flat for New Mexicans, many of whom find themselves worse off than before he took office. What was particularly dishonest was Biden's talk about saving democracy after the Democratic Party discarded New Mexicans' primary vote to install a new presidential ticket."

The questions we're still left with are:

• Was Biden's mental and physical fitness the reason for his sudden withdrawal, despite his consistent claims that he was staying in the race?
• Why is Biden withdrawing from the race now, just 100 days before the election and after the primary?
• Why won't Biden step down from his presidency if he is not physically and mentally fit to run for president?
• How do the NM Democratic candidates justify staunchly supporting Joe Biden and lying about his fitness for office until his disastrous debate performance sunk his rating in the polls?
