City of Athens Annual Paving 2024

City of Athens annual paving of streets to begin week of August 26. The following streets are scheduled first:

• Lorene Ave.,
• Marietta Ave.,
• Medical Center Dr.
• Tulane Rd.

Depending on progress, University Estates may also begin the week of the 26th as well.

Additional streets and bike path sections to be completed throughout the fall will also include:

• East State Street between Morris Ave. and Stimson Ave.;
• Shafer Street between West State and Byard St.;
• South Congress Street between Washington St. and Union St.;
• Granville Street between Second St. and Mary St.;
• Theater Lane between Columbus Road and end of street;
• Curran Street between Second St. and end of street;
• Elliottsville Road between Union St. and City Corp. Limit;
• Hockhocking Adena Bikeway between Currier St. and Union St.
• Hockhocking Adena Bikeway between 33 overpass at Waste Water Treatment Plant and Walmart
