CollegeNET has ranked CSUB No. 10 out of more than 1,200 schools across the nation as part of its 2024 Social Mobility Index. The index ranks four-year institutions based on several benchmarks, including how many students they enroll from low-income backgrounds and how effectively they graduate those students into good-paying jobs.

CSUB was the one of five CSUs to make the top 10. The others are CSU San Marcos, Dominguez Hills, Los Angeles and Long Beach.

CollegeNET considers several factors when determining its rankings, including tuition cost, graduation score, the percentage of students from low-income households and the median early career salary.

Data is collected from third-party sources, such as the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System.
