UW-Stevens Point announces theatre and dance season

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of Theatre and Dance offers shows themed with "A Season of…" this year, offering celebration, mystery, imagination and more on stage.

"I wanted each show of the season to have a defining word that captured the spirit and energy of the production," said Michael Estanich, professor and Department of Theatre and Dance chair. "This season's selection is an exciting mixture of classic and new.'

The first performance of the season is "Eleven Weeks of Nuclear Summer," a play set in mid-apocalyptic Maine with five camp counselors facing questions of self, connection and survival. The play was written by UW-Stevens Point alum Sophie McIntosh, class of '20, who will work with students through a workshop process and staged reading of this new work. McIntosh is returning to campus from New York, where she has found success as an up-and-coming playwright.
