Molina Healthcare of Washington Supports Programs Ensuring Access to Quality Health Care in Whatcom County

BELLINGHAM, Wash., July 24, 2024 - Molina Healthcare of Washington ("Molina") recently presented $5,000 to Unity Care Northwest (UCNW) to help ensure access to quality medical, dental, mental and behavioral health care for 24,000 Whatcom County residents, primarily those experiencing financial hardships.

"Molina is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our members and communities throughout Washington state," said Dr. Jay Fathi, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Washington. "Our support for UCNW and its programs helps to bring even higher quality whole person care to individuals and families in Whatcom County."

Funds will support programs including:

• Hand Up for Health - For items and services including blood pressure monitors or compression socks
• Mobile Dental - For dental exams and appointment scheduling for students in Whatcom County schools
• Extend A Hand - To cover the cost of prescriptions
• A library of online yoga and QigGong classes, plus a Dietitian Kitchen video series for healthy meal options
• The Way Station (coming soon) - For health and hygiene services to unhoused community members
