Hemet Recognizes 2024 Beautification Contest Winners

Hemet, Calif.-The City of Hemet has announced the 2024 Hemet Beautification Contest winners, who were recognized at the Hemet City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 24. The contest, which ran from May 9 to August 4, 2024, encouraged residents and businesses to enhance the appearance of their properties through landscaping, architectural improvements, and sustainability efforts.

The winners are:

• Citywide Commercial Winner: Rocking K Ranch & Ken Miskam
• District 1 Winner: Kevin Solis
• District 2 Winner: Angeles Hernandez
• District 3 Winner: Rosa Ramirez
• District 4 & Citywide Winner: Octavio Esqueda
• District 5 Winner: Daniel Barajas

The contest received a total of 22 applications from participants across the City. City Council members selected winners for district-level awards, and citywide winners were chosen by designated Council Liaisons Councilmember Malcolm Lilienthal and Councilmember Carole Kendrick. Each winner will receive a $1,000 prize.

The Hemet Beautification Contest is part of the City's ongoing efforts to promote community pride and improve the visual appeal of residential and commercial properties. The initiative was developed following community member feedback and modeled after similar programs in other cities in California.
