Timothy M. Brown to present 10/17 Food For Thought lunchtime lecture at the Alabama Archives

Montgomery, AL (10/01/2024) - The Alabama Department of Archives & History (ADAH) will continue its 2024 Food for Thought lunchtime lecture series on Thursday, October 17th, at 12:00pm CT. Timothy M. Brown will present Exploring the Collections of the Air Force Historical Agency in the ADAH's Joseph M. Farley Alabama Power Auditorium in Montgomery. Admission is FREE. The lecture will also be livestreamed on the ADAH's Facebook page and YouTube channel, and a recording will be available after the program.

Discover the rich heritage preserved at the Air Force Historical Research Agency (AFHRA) at Alabama's Maxwell Air Force Base. The presentation will discuss AFHRA's mission to safeguard and provide access to the extensive historical records of the United States Air Force and the United States Space Force. Brown will highlight items from AFHRA's collections and expand on its mission and available resources, underlining the Department of the Air Force as a historical hub of institutional memory.

Timothy M. Brown is the Director of the Air Force Historical Research Agency at Maxwell AFB. The Agency preserves and provides access to Air Force histories, special collections, lineage, military honors, and heritage. Before becoming a civil servant, Mr. Brown served 23 years on active duty in the Air Force, retiring in 2006. He served as a wing and major command historian, published Air Force histories and studies, served on Air Force History & Museums Program boards, and received numerous Air Force-level awards for excellence.
