LA GRANDE, Ore. - The 2024-25 rankings are in and Military Times has named Eastern Oregon University (EOU) the Best University for Veterans in Oregon. EOU was also recognized as the #3 Best for Vets Colleges in the Northwest and the top 15% of military-friendly schools nationwide.

The University honors military service with credit for prior learning, priority class registration, veteran-focused support spaces, academic and mental health advising, dedicated DoD/VA counseling, and financial aid, including scholarships for military families and government-funded benefits. With over 37 online and on-campus undergraduate and graduate degree pathways, EOU is a great first-choice for active-duty and veterans to earn their education.

"My goal is to ensure that when a student comes here and makes contact they get first-class treatment," Kerry Thompson, Director of EOU Hermiston/Pendleton Centers & EOU Military Services, said. "You're going to talk to a veteran here, and we will make sure our military and veteran students are connected to the resources that they need."

EOU has a long history of supporting the United States military. The 354th Army Gold Club at Eastern Oregon University began in 1940 training WWII pilots. It became a commissioning source in 1991, transitioned to ROTC in 2009, and has since produced officers for the 3/116 CABCT and other Oregon Guard units. To learn more about Eastern Oregon University's veteran support services, visit https://www.eou.edu/military/.
