Public Meeting on Infrastructure Improvements in West St. Pete Set for August 21

August 12, 2024 - The City of St. Petersburg is constructing a new 1-mile, 36-inch diameter wastewater transmission force main to replace an existing force main that is approaching the end of its useful life. This pipeline transfers wastewater from the Pasadena Master Pump Station at 6901 Park Cir. S. to the Northwest Water Reclamation Facility at 7500 26th Ave. N. and its replacement will improve wastewater system reliability, resiliency, and sustainability.

The City is hosting a Public Meeting for residents to attend and learn more about this project, the upcoming construction, and the environmental impact and benefits.

Public Meeting
Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 6-7 p.m.
Azalea Recreation Center
1600 72nd St. N.

The Pasadena Master Pump Station and its associated force main provides essential wastewater service to approximately 50,000 residents in St. Pete and surrounding communities include Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach, South Pasadena, and Bear Creek. The facility was originally constructed in 1979 and on average accepts 5 million gallons of wastewater per day.

Construction activities are anticipated to begin in September 2024 and can be expected along portions of these neighborhoods:

  • Historic Park Street

  • Azalea

  • Old Pasadena

  • Pasadena Bear Creek Estates

During construction and restoration of the roads, temporary lane closures and detours will be necessary. Access to businesses and homes will be maintained.

More information about the project and the tentative construction schedule can be found at stpete.org/PasadenaFMR.
