Wayne Mayo: Jonesy, pick up the hotline. I think it's the mayor calling. Mayor Eric Adams: Hey, how's it going? Mayo: Hey, good morning, Mr. Mayor. Tarsha Jones: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You can't sweet talk yourself out of this one. And while the flowers were lovely that you sent, thank you so much for the flowers. I'm going to have to break up with you real quick. Mayo: What? Jones: Listen, we'll be back together by the end of this break, but we looked for you at the party on Sunday. We waited. Mayor Adams: They had me all over the place. Jones: That's all right. You'll come to the one in Queens on November 30th. Mayor Adams: Yes, we'll be there. Jones: All right. We're back together again. Mayo: That was fast. Jones: I'm easy. I'm old and easy. Ladies and gentlemen, Mayor Eric Adams. Mayor Adams: How are you? Jones: I'm good. How are you doing? Mayor Adams: Quite well, quite well. You know, things are going well. Jones: Happy Halloween. Mayor Adams: Yes, it's going to be the parade. And, you know, just for folks to be safe out there during this season. Jones: Now, what are Halloween Open Streets going to look like with 80 degree weather? Mayor Adams: You can only imagine today. We have a series of locations that are open. Then you got the parade that's going to take place. So we're going to move around in various locations, just allow young people to be out. You know, I would try to be up in Harlem at a few locations. Jones: Okay, which brings me to the Shirley Chisholm Center. Mayor Adams: Out in Brooklyn. We're opening the system with Councilwoman Farah Louis and the Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn. And, you know, in one year, we almost 50 to 60 percent done. You know, I was there the other day walking through. This is going to be an unbelievable place. Swimming pool, track, a gym. A tech room for young people to learn about technology. It's just really something that's in the heart of Flatbush. Something that, you know, we really wanted to invest in. And we turned around fast using a concept called Design-Build. And you said it's really safe now. Jones: That's awesome. Mayor Adams: Now, what are you dressing up as this year? Jones: The first lady of New York City on Wednesdays, sometimes Thursdays. And you, my friend? Mayor Adams: I'm trying to figure that out right now. I may do as the radio host. Jones: Stop playing with me. Alright I love you all over again. Mayo: I got an idea. Why don't you dress up as the mayor of New York City? Jones: Shut up. Watch your damn mouth. We'll be right back. Hopefully. Hold on. Hold on. Let me get him in order. [Music Break.] Jones: We're back with Mayor Eric Adams. And I wanted to talk about the brothel cleanup.Mayor Adams: RooseveltAvenue. It's a real issue. So people look at prostitution as a harmless crime, but it's not. You know, sex trafficking is real. And those of us who have really fought against it for a long time, sex trafficking is real.
And, you know, we've been focusing on the Johns and trying to give the women the help they need to know that they don't have to be out there selling their bodies in that magnitude. But we are really pushing and fighting against sex trafficking that takes place there. And the community respects that. They know they're tired of seeing the prostitution on the streets. Their children are watching it. And we really have been focusing on this. Jones: Right. And y'all keep on messing around and you too will lose the Key to the City. Wait, what? No, no. Not to be confused with the key to [ ]. Hey, wait a minute now. Mayor Adams: You know, I'm surprised you didn't talk about the great celebration we did for Liberty. You know, those sisters brought home the victory. Jones: The one where I was supposed to be performing? And got shut down by your office? That one? Mayor Adams: You could never be shut down. You know, well listen it's good talking to you, I'm off to the races. Jones: Yes. Be well, be safe. Mayo: Oh, Mr. Mayor, everything in line for the marathon this weekend? Mayor Adams: Yes, yes. You know, I've got a couple of deputy mayors that are running. Mayo: Good. Mayor Adams: Three of my deputy mayors are running. And I'm pretty sure I'm going to wish them, you know, good luck in the race. Jones: Okay. Jones: Is Eddie Gibbs, is Eddie Gibbs your people? Mayor Adams: Yes, he is. Jones: Alright. Because they've been trying to get on the show, and I said, I got to run it past my old man first. Mayor Adams: No, that's my guy. He's a good guy. Jones: Alright. I'm gonna lock him in. Be careful. See you soon.###
