Freedom House Mourns the Passing of Former Trustee Morton Abramowitz

WASHINGTON-In response to the recent passing of former Freedom House trustee Morton Abramowitz, the organization's interim president, Nicole Bibbins Sedaca, issued the following statement:

"There have been few public servants as dedicated as Morton Abramowitz, and Freedom House deeply mourns his loss. Morton's distinguished career spanned decades and continents-and wherever he was he always served as a relentless advocate for democracy and human rights. In his role as a Freedom House trustee, we benefited from his foresight and deep commitment to humanitarian ideals, peace, and diplomacy. Our thoughts are with his friends, family, and all those who loved him."
