Damage Survey Tool Practice Test – An Invitation for Bismarck Area Residents

As follow-up to the tornado watch issued on August 28, Bismarck Emergency Management invites you to become familiar with a damage survey tool for use in communicating damage or impact to your immediate area in the event Bismarck would be impacted by a tornado.

This is the same survey tool that was announced on August 1, 2024. The purpose of making it available again is to allow more citizens to become familiar with it and to simply give the survey a "trial run."

Feel free to experiment with the survey tool via your phone or computer, and report any level of fictional property damage as you wish from any location within the Bismarck or immediate area.

The survey tool will be made available for "practice" now through September 1. After opening the survey, it should take about one minute to complete.

In the event a tornado would impact Bismarck, city departments including response agencies may use the information for planning and decision-making purposes to aid in response and recovery efforts.
