Border Bank Celebrates 89th Birthday by Launching Winter Warmth Drive

Border Bank will be celebrating its 89th birthday by giving back to the communities it serves through a bank-wide Winter Warmth Drive. The project will be launched on the bank's birthday, Friday, August 9 and extend through September 30. The initiative aims to collect new and gently used coats, jackets, snow pants, hats, mittens, scarves and boots for children and adults in need of winter gear.

Border Bank was founded August 9, 1935 in Greenbush, Minnesota. Since then, the bank established eight more branches in Minnesota, including Middle River, Badger, Thief River Falls, Roseau, Baudette, International Falls, Coon Rapids and Clearbrook - and two branches in Fargo, North Dakota. In addition, Border Bank owns Northern Ag, an insurance agency providing crop insurance, commodity marketing advisory and brokerage services. Northern Ag has offices in Roseau and Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

All eleven branches and the two Northern Ag locations will serve as drop-off points for the winter gear. Items collected will be delivered to local non-profit organizations and shelters for proper distribution.

"We are proud to launch this Winter Warmth Drive as a way of celebrating our 89th birthday," said Kory Shae, Border Bank's CEO. "Our goal is to help ensure those in need are equipped with winter gear to stay warm and safe this upcoming winter season. Finding impactful ways to give back to the communities we serve and call home is part of our culture. Facilitating the drive is a fitting way to say thank you to our customers and communities we have been privileged to serve over the course of 89 years."

Winter gear drop off locations will be serving cupcakes and refreshments on the bank's birthday, Friday, August 9. The public is invited to join us in the celebration.
