Sidewalk (ADA) Improvement Project Scheduled in Pike and Lincoln Counties…

HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, the week of August 19, contractor crews will start work on a sidewalk (ADA) improvement project in Pike and Lincoln counties. Initially, work will start on the south side of Route D in Eolia, between Second and Third Streets, in Pike County. Upon completion, two additional locations will be completed in the following order:

  • Route W - West side of Route W in Paynesville, from Route H north junction to just south of the Route H south junction, in Pike County
  • Missouri Route 79 - West side of MO 79 in Elsberry, between Lincoln and Broadway Streets, in Lincoln County

The $385,263 contract was awarded earlier this year to S&A Equipment & Builders, LLC of Fulton, Missouri. This project is scheduled to be completed by late October.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction at the location where crews are actively working. Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control to guide traffic through the work zone. Workers will be present during daylight hours. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

This work is being completed as part of MoDOT's initiative for compliance with the current standards of the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA). We ask that motorists please be attentive in work zones for their safety and the safety of highway workers. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur.

For more information on this and other projects in your area, please contact MoDOT's Customer Center toll-free at 1-888-ASK MODOT (275-6636). Work with us in the work zone! Please remember to obey all work zone signs and personnel. With an increased number of highway work zones in Missouri, we urge all drivers to pay attention every second while driving, especially through a work zone. Be informed of your route by checking the MoDOT Traveler Information Map before you travel.
