Repair Work on South Sherman to Take a Week
Repair work on South Sherman Street south of the railroad tracks will cause traffic detours and closures starting Sept. 11 and continuing through Sept. 18.
The repairs are being done by Andale Construction under warranty, after resurfacing of several blocks of this concrete section of South Sherman last year did not live up to expectations.
From Wednesday Sept. 11, through Friday, Sept. 13, South Sherman will have lane closures starting from Commerce Avenue and continuing south for about two blocks. The lane closures will be identified with traffic control devices and signage for guidance.
Then on Saturday, Sept. 14, the work will move to the section of Sherman north of Commerce, including the intersection with Burlington Avenue. That segment of Sherman will be fully closed until Wednesday, Sept. 18, but the intersection itself is expected to be reopened by Sunday, Sept. 15.
Traffic control devices and signage will be in place throughout the entire project.
